About Classics Archive
A quiet corner of the internet for readers since 2005.
Classics Archive was born from a simple belief: great books don't need to be intimidating. For over two decades, we've been helping readers discover classic literature — not through stuffy academic lectures, but through honest, warm, and deeply personal guides.
We don't review every book ever written. We curate. Every title we recommend has been read, annotated, and genuinely loved by someone on our team. When we say "this edition is worth your money," we mean it — and we tell you exactly why.
Meet the Editor
Crystal Yifei Liu has spent over 20 years at the intersection of technology and publishing.
She was the 37th employee at Google, where she helped build the early AdWords quality scoring system. In 2004, she joined Amazon in Seattle as the Global Technical Architect for the Amazon Associates platform — the very affiliate program that many book blogs rely on today.
Since 2016, Crystal has stepped back from corporate life to focus on what she loves most: helping readers find their next great book. She tests every eReader, reads every classic, and writes every guide with the same rigor she brought to building billion-dollar platforms — but with a lot more tea and a lot fewer meetings.
"I've built systems that served millions. But helping one person discover Pride and Prejudice? That's the work I'm proudest of."
How We Make Money
Classics Archive is reader-supported. When you click a link and buy a product we recommend, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never influences our recommendations. We regularly update our pricing information and disclose all affiliate relationships clearly.
We also participate in the Amazon Associates program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our Promise
We will never recommend a book or product we haven't personally vetted. If something disappoints us, we'll tell you. If a cheaper alternative is just as good, we'll point you there. Your trust is worth more than any commission check.
